Justice, leather and musks – Inspired by Gloria Killian

Old beaten books fill prison library shelves, entwining notes of antique pages and aged leather binding. Hints of amber & saffron rest upon a base of dry cedar, resins, musks & incense to complete the story of justice, discovery & contemplation.

One part inspired by pandemic induced lockdowns, one part inspired by the courageous Gloria Killian. This resilient woman was cruelly framed for murder, robbery & conspiracy and served almost 20 years in Prison after being sentenced to 32 years to life.

Gloria spent everyday in the library acting as a jailhouse attorney for her fellow inmates, despite her own pleas being rejected. After new evidence surfaced that finally proved her innocence, Gloria was freed in 2002.

The Prisoner is a part of the Moody Muse Collection by LDC. Embracing a stylish emoji twist, the series was created to celebrate the enigmatic personas of famous Muses throughout art history; elusive & provocative women who have inspired and motivated the creative process.

200g, Burn time 35 hours

THE FIRST BURN: Tunnelling occurs when the candle hasnโ€™t been burning for long enough and the wax hasnโ€™t had the chance to fully melt at the edges. To avoid this, you must leave your candle burning for at least 3 hours the first time you light her. After the first burn, you can then extinguish the flame ready for the next burn. If you continue to allow the wax to melt to the edges of the vessel, you will experience the fullest scent throw and enjoy the maximum burn time.
TRIM THE WICK: You should ideally trim it to 5-7mm before each burn.
RECENTER THE WICK: to get a cleaner burn next time.

We recommend wiping clean with a damp cloth and to avoid using abrasive materials or substances.
