HomeGift Realty, Inc. is a Massachusetts for-profit corporation
with principle offices located at 18 North Main Street, Sherborn,
MA 01770. HomeGift is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
as a real estate broker. This means that HomeGift can make referrals
to licensed real estate brokers in all 50 of the United States.
We are not licensed to buy or sell property, or to act as a real
estate broker or salesperson, in any state but Massachusetts.
However, we do not list properties or represent buyers in connection
with our non-profit real estate programs. We refer our non-profits’ supporters
to qualified, licensed agents in their local areas.
The payments we make to your non-profit under our Realty
Perks™ program
are not tax deductible to you because we make those payments
pursuant to a licensing agreement with your non-profit. If you
have any questions about the tax status of your rebate, please
consult your tax advisor. If you or your tax advisor need further
information from us, please email us at customercare@homegift.com.
Some
of our programs offer you, the supporter, a rebate on the real
commissions from your transaction. However, some states do not
permit brokers to rebate or share their real estate commissions
with the consumers they represent, so in those states this component
of a program may not apply. This does not mean that you cannot
participate in the program under the terms stated on that non-profit’s
program site. The rebate payment to you and the payment to a
non-profit occur after you close on a purchase or sale—or
both—using an agent referred to you by this program. Your rebate
payment and the payment to the non-profit will be made within
thirty days of receiving a referral fee on your transaction.
