Agents & Brokers How It Works
Here’s a brief overview of how our programs get you more business:
1. HomeGift Partners with a Non-Profit or Cause
We partner with large national non-profit and cause
organizations, as well as small to mid size local organizations. We create a co-branded web site and participate in marketing initiatives for each organization, to tell all of their members about the unique benefits of the HomeGift program when they buy or sell a home.
2. Home Buyers and Sellers Contact HomeGift
When non-profit and cause organization members are ready to buy or sell a home, they sign up with HomeGift, by phone or through our web site. Our licensed, experienced real estate professionals will interview the buyer / seller to determine their particular needs.
3. HomeGift Matches the Buyer /Seller with top Agents
Acting as an impartial consultant, HomeGift will find one or more agents to refer to the buyer / seller client, based on the buyer / seller’s market, their property and their particular needs. Any qualified agents in that market will be considered.
4. The Agent Must Sign up with HomeGift to Receive Referrals
While HomeGift will work with any qualified agent in a given market, the agent must sign up with the HomeGift program in order to receive the referral. A participating agent must be interviewed and screened for professionalism, responsiveness and market knowledge—and sign an agent "code of conduct."
5. The Buyer / Seller Selects an Agent
The buyer / seller is free to choose the agent that they prefer to work with for their real estate transaction. The buyer / seller and agent are free to negotiate their own terms as usual. The agent pays a simple referral fee to HomeGift.
6. The Home Purchase or Sale Closes
Within 30 days after the closing, HomeGift will send a rebate check to the buyer / seller. A check for designated funds will be sent to their charity or cause. The amount of the payment to the charity is determined by the buyer / seller or the charity / cause, depending on the terms originally set prior to program start-up.
